AHF launches wellness centre in Abuja

AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) has launched a wellness centre in the Kuje suburb of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The centre aims to address various sexually related challenges and offers free Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) testing and treatment.

This is the second wellness centre in the country, with the first one being launched in Benue earlier this year. The AHF Country Programme Director, Ejezie, highlighted that the centre provides free STIs services, counselling, treatment, cervical cancer screening, and HIV services.

The goal is to reach the community in Abuja and beyond, addressing and preventing STIs, reducing stigma, and providing education and support. The centre plays a vital role in prevention, management, and education on STIs and cervical cancer screening.

Various speakers at the event emphasized the importance of community sensitization and advocacy to combat STIs and reduce stigma. The initiative was commended by partners and community leaders for its significant impact in addressing sexually.
