Akwa Ibom to Launch Agricultural Equipment Leasing Firm

The Akwa Ibom State government, led by Governor Umo Eno, is set to inaugurate an agricultural equipment leasing company aimed at promoting large-scale mechanized farming. This initiative was disclosed during a recent inspection of the company's facilities located in Ekpri Nsukara, Uyo.

Governor Eno commended the contractor for the significant progress made on the project, which is part of the administration's strategy to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure food security in the state. The leasing program will provide farmers with access to 25 tractors, tracking devices, and two low-bed trucks at subsidized rates, facilitating improved farming outputs.

Additionally, the governor highlighted the importance of the tree crop revolution program and assured that seedlings for palm trees would be distributed to farmers within two weeks, coinciding with the rainy season when crops thrive best. He urged farmers to take advantage of various agricultural programs introduced by the government to enhance large-scale farming and boost economic growth in Akwa Ibom State.
