Air Peace Faces Turbulence as Lessor Withdraws Aircraft Abruptly

Air Peace, a Nigerian airline, is grappling with disruptions after Smartlynx Airlines unexpectedly withdrew two leased aircraft, impacting flight schedules and operations. The sudden move has resulted in widespread flight delays and cancellations across Air Peace's network.

Nowel Ngala, Air Peace's Chief Commercial Officer, revealed that Smartlynx Airlines violated agreements and left the airline to reorganize its flight schedules. This incident highlights the challenges faced by Nigerian airlines in global lease arrangements.

Notably, this is not the first time a foreign lessor has left Air Peace in a difficult situation, as a previous incident with Syphax Airlines in Tunisia also resulted in financial losses.
