Air Peace Responds to NSIB Report Indicting Pilots for Flying Under Influence

Air Peace responded after the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) released a preliminary report indicting its top pilots for flying under the influence of alcohol and cannabis during a runway incursion incident at the International Airport on July 13, 2025. The report revealed that toxicology tests showed the presence of alcohol and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in the pilots' systems.

Air Peace stated that it had not received a formal notification from NSIB regarding the test results and emphasized its commitment to aviation safety protocols. The airline disclosed that the captain involved in the incident had been grounded and barred from duty due to the positive test results, citing a failure to adhere to Crew Resource Management principles and standard procedures.
