Air Peace Launches Inaugural Flight to Barbados

Air Peace commenced its inaugural commercial flight from Lagos to Barbados on May 24, 2026. This milestone was marked by a media launch at a high-level forum in Barbados, which aimed to enhance connections between Africa and the Caribbean.

The forum gathered senior government officials, diplomats, tourism executives, airline delegates, and media stakeholders to discuss the growth of institutional support for direct air connections. Hon.

Ian Gooding-Edghill, the Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados, described the launch of the direct air service as a landmark occasion that would deepen relations between the Caribbean and the African continent. The flight is expected to strengthen commercial, tourism, and cultural ties, reflecting the commitment of Air Peace and its partners, including the African Export-Import Bank and Afreximbank, to facilitate trade and travel between the two regions.
