Air Peace Launches Direct Flights from Lagos to Barbados

Air Peace, Nigeria's largest carrier, has expanded its fleet by adding a Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft to meet increasing passenger demand across domestic and regional routes. The newly acquired aircraft, registered 5N-CGD, arrived at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on May 24, 2026.

This aircraft is designed to boost passenger capacity, improve operational efficiency, and enhance onboard comfort with a configuration of 189 economy class seats. Additionally, Air Peace launched direct commercial flights from Lagos to Barbados on the same day, marking a significant step in strengthening air connectivity between Africa and the Caribbean.

The inaugural flight carried 284 passengers, including dignitaries such as Air Peace's Chief Commercial Officer Nowel Ngala and Juliett Bynoe-Sutherland, the Barbados High Commissioner to Nigeria. This new route is expected to address long-standing travel challenges and provide a direct travel option for tourists and business travelers, promoting cultural exchange and economic growth.
