Aisha Yesufu Criticizes Rivers Assembly Over Impeachment Moves and Electoral Flaws

Aisha Yesufu, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), criticized the Rivers State House of Assembly for attempting to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy. Yesufu expressed concerns about the recall process, citing flaws in the voter registration system managed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

She emphasized the need for a proper cleanup of the voter registry to ensure accurate representation of eligible voters. Yesufu argued that the current recall threshold does not align with the actual number of active voters, questioning the democratic principles in the state.
