Aisha Yesufu Joins NDC, Declares for FCT Senate Seat

Aisha Yesufu, a prominent activist, has officially resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). She announced her intent to contest for the Federal Capital Territory senatorial seat in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Yesufu disclosed her decision in a statement posted on social media, indicating that her choice was influenced by a deeper understanding of the nation's future and her continued alignment with the political direction of former presidential candidate Peter Obi. She expressed that her commitment to support Obi remains steadfast, stating that she initially joined the ADC to support him but is now transitioning to the NDC to further this commitment.

Yesufu emphasized that her involvement with the NDC is not merely as a member but as a candidate for the senatorial seat. She acknowledged the support from ADC members and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve at various levels within the party.

This move follows the recent alignment of Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso with the NDC.
