Ondo Governor Presents ₦492.8 Billion Budget Amid Assembly Tensions

Ondo State Governor Aiyedatiwa unveiled a ₦492.8 billion budget for the 2026 fiscal year to the Ondo Assembly, emphasizing economic consolidation and recovery. The budget includes ₦167.5 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦281.991 billion for capital projects across the state.

The proposal aims to stabilize critical sectors and deepen reforms to drive growth-oriented investments. Tensions arose within the assembly as 12 lawmakers distanced themselves from the speaker, alleging frustration against the governor's efforts.

However, the rift was reportedly resolved following the governor's intervention, ensuring smooth governance.
