Akada Children’s Book Festival in Lagos Promotes African Storytelling and Reading Culture

The Akada Children’s Book Festival in Lekki, Lagos, recently held its seventh edition, focusing on promoting a reading culture and celebrating African storytelling. With a theme of "Book Adventure," the festival attracted over 10,000 attendees and featured 34 authors, 27 featured books, workshops, storytime sessions, and interactive activities.

Renowned author Olubunmi Aboderin Talabi described the festival as a platform to ignite children's imagination and curiosity for reading. The event recognized outstanding contributions to children's literature through major awards.

The festival aims to empower parents, educators, and children to embrace African stories and nurture a culture of reading.
