Akor Adams Leads Venezia to Historic Win Over Napoli
Akor Adams scored the decisive goal for Venezia in their 1-0 victory over Napoli in Serie A on Saturday, ending an 84-year wait for a league win against the Italian champions. The match took place at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, where Adams struck shortly after half-time, capitalizing on a missed opportunity by Napoli.
Despite Napoli controlling 70 percent of possession and registering eight attempts in the first half, they failed to score. Adams' goal came after a long ball allowed him to outpace Napoli defender Amir Rrahmani and finish past goalkeeper Alex Meret.
Napoli increased their attacking efforts but failed to equalize, including a missed penalty by Kevin De Bruyne, saved by Venezia goalkeeper Filip Stankovic. This victory marked a significant historical milestone for Venezia, even as they remained at the bottom of the Serie A table.
