Akor Adams Scores First Serie A Goal for Venezia

Akor Adams opened his Serie A goal account on Friday, scoring his first league goal for newly promoted Venezia against Fiorentina. He netted the goal in just 22 minutes during his third league appearance, converting a well-placed pass into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.

Despite his early goal, Franco Mastantuono of Fiorentina responded with two quick goals before half-time. Adams has had an impressive start in Italy, having scored twice and provided an assist in the Coppa Italia three weeks prior, where Venezia defeated Modena 3-2 at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.

Adams joined Venezia this summer from Sevilla, becoming the club's most expensive signing in history, with a transfer fee of €17 million plus bonuses. He signed a four-year contract worth €1.5 million per season after completing his medicals in the lagoon city.
