Akpabio and Abbas Given 7-Day Ultimatum Over Missing ₦18.6 Billion National Assembly Funds

The Nigerian Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, are under scrutiny to account for the alleged mismanagement of ₦18.6 billion intended for the construction of the National Assembly Service Commission's office complex. The missing funds were flagged in a 2022 report by the Auditor General of the Federation, indicating irregularities in payments to unknown construction firms without proper documentation.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has demanded transparency and threatened legal action if accountability is not provided within seven days.
