Absence of Senate Leaders as Senator Akwashiki's Remains Arrive in Nigeria

Senate leaders, notably Akpabio, were notably absent as the body of Senator Akwashiki was repatriated to Nigeria from India. The Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Sadiq Gomb, and 2023 presidential candidate of the party, Adewole Adebayo, were present to receive the remains at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport cargo terminal in Abuja.

Other dignitaries, including former Nasarawa State Governor Umaru Al-Makura and political figures like Jonathan Gaza Gbefwi and Labaran Maku, expressed their condolences. Gomb described Akwashiki's passing as a great loss to the nation.

Adebayo emphasized the late senator's significant contributions, expressing deep sorrow over his demise.
