Akpabio Seeks Reversal of Federal High Court's Judgment on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan

Former Senator Godswill Akpabio has approached the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal to seek a reversal of the judgment by Justice Binta Murtala Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja. The judgment, issued on July 4, 2025, ordered the recall of suspended Kogi State Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for contempt of court and imposed a fine of N5 million.

Akpabio's legal team argued that the lower court's jurisdiction was challenged, and the suspension was unconstitutional and violated the Senate's constitutional rights. The appeal challenges the judgment on 11 grounds, aiming to nullify it due to alleged errors and miscarriage of justice.
