Akpabio Calls for Enhanced Security and Political Unity

During the Senate's plenary session, Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, called on security agencies to intensify their efforts in rescuing captives and protecting vulnerable communities. He expressed sympathy for families affected by abductions during the recess, specifically mentioning victims from Marisa and Dekera Mosque.

Akpabio emphasized the Senate's role in addressing insecurity, flooding, and the rising cost of living through legislation, appropriation, and oversight. He also acknowledged the impact of recent floods on communities and urged for better preparedness and timely relief.
