Umo Eno Appoints Five New Aides in Akwa Ibom State

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has appointed five new aides to coordinate efforts in mobilizing youth, women, senior citizens, and grassroots communities across the state. The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, on Tuesday.

The appointees include Mrs Mercy Eka as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Senior Citizens Mobilisation, Ms Blessing Ossom as Senior Special Assistant on Grassroots Mobilisation, Obongama Jimmy as Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation, Dr (Mrs) Alice Etuk as Senior Special Assistant on Women Mobilisation, and Smart Samuel Usanga as Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation. These appointments are set to take effect from September 1, 2026.

The state government congratulated the appointees and expressed wishes for their success in their new roles, which are expected to strengthen the administration’s engagement with key demographic groups in Akwa Ibom State.
