Umo Eno Approves 4,000 Civil Service Appointments in Akwa Ibom

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom has authorized the immediate release of appointment letters to 4,000 candidates who successfully passed the state's civil service recruitment exercise, with the appointments set to take effect on October 1, 2026. This decision was made following the receipt of the Civil Service Recruitment Report from the commission chairman, Ekerebong Umoh, at Government House in Uyo.

Governor Eno also approved the recruitment of an additional 2,000 teachers through the State Universal Basic Board to staff newly built model primary schools across Akwa Ibom. He commended the recruitment team, particularly Umoh, Commissioner for Science and Digital Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, and Head of Service Mrs. Elsie Peters, for their diligent and transparent process.

Umoh reported that over 36,000 candidates registered, with only 12,000 meeting the cut-off for the first interview, and ultimately, 4,000 were selected based on their performance in the Computer-Based Test and oral interviews.
