ALGON President Engages Petroleum Minister on LPG Initiatives

On a recent date, the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Bello Lawal, led a high-level delegation to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in Abuja, where they engaged with the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Hon.

Ekperikpe Ekpo. The meeting focused on consolidating partnerships to enhance the penetration of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) at the grassroots level.

Hon. Lawal expressed gratitude for the minister's reception and emphasized the need for collaboration to implement the LPG value chain across Nigeria's 774 local government areas.

He commended the minister for the successful launch of clean energy programs and announced ALGON's readiness to mobilize community support for equitable LPG cylinder distribution. The minister acknowledged the importance of local government involvement and pledged support alongside private partners.

The delegation included key figures such as Barr. Evan Enekwe, Shehu Jega, and Dr.

Alphonsu Ubaness Igbek, among others.
