Linda Ejiofor Makes History at 2026 AMVCA Awards

Linda Ejiofor achieved a historic milestone at the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) held at Eko Hotel on May 9, 2026, by becoming the first female entertainer to win the Best Supporting Role. Ejiofor's victory came in a competitive field that included prominent Nollywood figures such as Funke Akindele.

Her award-winning performance was in the satirical drama "Herd," which addresses social realities in Nigeria. During her acceptance speech, Ejiofor expressed gratitude to her fans, director, producers, and crew for their support throughout her journey.

She rose to national fame in 2015 through her role in the popular M-Net series and previously won the Best Supporting Actress at the AMVCA, solidifying her status as a rising star. Born in Lagos and originating from Isuikwuato in Abia State, she is the second of five children and attended various schools, including the Federal Government Girls College in Onitsha and the University of Port Harcourt, where she studied sociology.

Ejiofor became engaged in 2018 and later married fellow actor Suleiman, with whom she has a son born in 2020.
