Linda Ejiofor Makes History at 2026 AMVCA Awards

At the 2026 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) held on May 9 at Eko Hotel, Lagos, Linda Ejiofor Sulaiman achieved a historic feat by winning both the Best Lead Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards. This marked the first time an actress won both categories in one night at the AMVCA.

Linda's Best Lead Actress award was for her role as Ijeoma in the Igbo language drama "Serpent's Gift," directed by Kayode Kasum, where she portrayed a grieving widow navigating family politics to protect her late husband's legacy. She later returned to the stage to accept the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Adama in Daniel Etim Effiong's directorial debut.

During her emotional acceptance speech, Linda reflected on her prayers from three years prior and expressed gratitude to God, her family, and fans, especially her husband, Ibrahim Suleiman. Her victories came amidst competition from notable Nollywood figures, including Funke Akindele and Bimbo Akintola.
