Witness Testifies in $6bn Fraud Case Involving Mambilla Power Project

In a corruption trial, a witness testified that Dr. Olu Agunloye, a former Minister of Power and Steel, did not surpass financial directives set by ex-President Obasanjo regarding the Mambilla hydroelectric power project.

The case involves allegations of disobeying presidential directives, conspiracy, forgery, and receiving gratifications totaling $6 billion. The witness clarified that Agunloye adhered to the recommended limits for government participation in the project.

Agunloye pleaded not guilty to the charges. The trial is ongoing in an Abuja court.
