EFCC Witness Claims Obasanjo Ordered ₦11 Billion Addition to Mambilla Project Budget

The EFCC witness testified in court that ex-President Obasanjo directed the addition of ₦11 billion to the 2003 budget for the Mambilla hydroelectric power project, on top of the ₦6 billion already allocated. Obasanjo, along with Adeola Adedip and others, is accused of conspiracy, forgery, and receiving gratifications.

The witness revealed that Obasanjo was eager to kick-start the project, which had been delayed for over two decades. The prosecution also mentioned the involvement of Umar Babangida and Atiku Abubakar in the project proposal.
