DSS Charges Sowore for Defamation Against Tinubu - Legal Battle Unfolds

The Department of State Services (DSS) has filed a five-count charge against activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Sowore is accused of defaming President Bola Tinubu in a Facebook post.

The DSS alleges that Sowore's remarks were derogatory and could incite public disturbance. Despite being directed to retract the statement and issue a public apology, Sowore has refused to comply.

The DSS had earlier invited Sowore to retract the alleged defamatory post. This legal action highlights the ongoing tensions between the government and critics in Nigeria's political landscape.
