Patience Ozokwor Urges Parents to Let Kids Struggle

Patience Ozokwor, a veteran Nollywood actress, has advised parents to allow their children to experience some level of struggle to foster resilience, responsibility, and an appreciation for hard work. In an interview with Femi Bassey TV, Ozokwor stated that shielding children from hardship could leave them unprepared for adult life.

She clarified that allowing children to struggle should not equate to subjecting them to suffering. Ozokwor recounted her own journey, highlighting her various jobs, including selling food at movie locations, to support herself while pursuing opportunities in the Nigerian film industry.

She emphasized the importance of exposing her children to the effort required to build a stable life, recalling that three of her sons participated in construction work during their university years. Ozokwor cautioned against giving children inherited wealth without preparing them to manage it, urging young people to develop determination and work for themselves.
