AMAC Chairman Maikalangu Urges FCT Women to Vote APC

On September 16, 2026, Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), addressed women in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at the AMAC Women Stakeholders’ Strategic Town Hall Meeting. He encouraged them to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Philip Aduda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections to reap the benefits of democracy.

Maikalangu promised multi-million naira financial interventions for organized women cooperatives and urged the formation of registered cooperative societies to access municipal funding. He announced that his administration would disburse grants between ₦20 million and ₦40 million to registered women's groups to enhance local trade and entrepreneurship.

Philip Aduda, represented by Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, emphasized the importance of women in sustainable peace and national growth. Loveth Isekor challenged women to demonstrate leadership merit, while Dr. Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack spoke on mobilizing sustainable development and women's roles in socio-economic transformation.
