Wike Accuses Amaechi of Court Shutdown Impacting Woman

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), publicly criticized Rotimi Amaechi, the vice presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), during a media chat held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Wednesday. Wike accused Amaechi of shutting down the courts during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State, which he claimed led to a pregnant woman giving birth in prison.

Wike expressed his disapproval of the current president of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) for inviting Amaechi, stating that he had previously chained and locked up the courts for almost two years. This statement reflects Wike's concerns regarding the implications of Amaechi's past actions on the judicial system in Rivers State.
