Amandla Institute Hosts Meeting on West Africa's Integration Journey

The Amandla Institute is organizing a meeting in Abuja to reflect on West Africa's integration journey as part of marking the 50th anniversary of ECOWAS. The event, scheduled for October 31 to November 1, 2025, will bring together experts to reimagine the region's cooperation and integration.

Discussions will cover ECOWAS' achievements and challenges over the past five decades, including the recent withdrawal of three member states. Key topics include the introduction of the ECOWAS passport, free movement protocols, security issues, economic disparities, and slow progress in regional integration.

The event aims to strengthen regional cooperation and promote a people-centered integration agenda.
