Rick Ross Arrested for Assaulting Woman in Miami Beach

American rapper William Leonard Roberts II, known as Rick Ross, was arrested in Miami Beach, Florida, over allegations of assaulting a woman and restricting her breathing during an incident at his Star Island home. Ross voluntarily turned himself in to Miami Beach police on Thursday and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Centre.

He faces one felony charge of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor charge of battery, stemming from an incident on August 28, reported to police on September 29. The police affidavit details that Ross and the woman had been in a relationship for about a year.

The woman alleged that Ross became angry over her Instagram photo, slapped her, and restricted her breathing by grabbing her hoodie collar. She reported injuries, including a cut to her lip.

Surveillance footage was reviewed, and Ross later posted a photo on Instagram showing a friend at the property. Ross denies the allegations, and his attorney, Bradley Horenstein, requested the public to allow the legal process to unfold.

Ross was granted a bond of $5,000 and was released.
