Rivers State Local Government Elections: APC and PDP Contest 23 LGAs in Hotly Contested Polls

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) successfully conducted polls for 23 vacant chairmanship and councillorship seats across 23 local government areas in Rivers State. Despite legal challenges, the RSIEC managed the elections with 16 political parties participating, including the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The APC fielded candidates in all 23 LGAs, while the PDP contested in three LGAs. The APC presented 20 chairmanship candidates, while the PDP had three.
