Anglican Church Nigeria Approves Creation of 15 New Dioceses, Total Now 176

The Anglican Church in Nigeria has approved the creation of 15 new dioceses, increasing the total to 176 nationwide. Mr.

Korede Akintunde, the Communication Officer of the Church, announced the development in Abuja. The new dioceses include five regular dioceses and ten missionary dioceses, such as Ekiti South, Kalabari, and Lagos South West.

The approval was made by the Standing Committee of the General Synod on behalf of the Church in accordance with its Constitution and Canons. The process will involve the election of bishops, consecration, and eventual inauguration.

This expansion aims to enhance the Church's presence and service across various regions in Nigeria.
