Anglican Church in Ekiti Denies Fundraising Allegations at Funeral Service

The Anglican Church in Ekiti has denied allegations made by Babafemi Ojudu regarding fundraising at a funeral service. Ojudu claimed that a burial service turned into a fundraising exercise, causing public outrage.

However, the church clarified that the service for the late Kehinde Ajifolaw was conducted peacefully and no fundraising exploitation occurred. The church explained that a voluntary thanksgiving offering of 200,000 naira was announced by the deceased's niece on behalf of the children, with two individuals also making spontaneous donations.

The church attributed the misunderstanding to misinformation and emphasized that no coercion or solicitation took place during the service.
