Delta North Leaders Reject South-East Proposal, Demand Anioma State Creation

Delta North leaders, including local government chairmen, have rejected the proposal to merge Anioma State with the South-East geopolitical zone. They emphasized that Anioma remains part of the South-South region due to its historical, geographical, and cultural heritage.

The proposed Anioma State would consist of nine local government areas with Asaba as its capital. The leaders strongly oppose any alignment of Anioma with the South-East and are determined to pursue the creation of Anioma State within the South-South framework.

Sylvester Mony, a key figure in the movement for Anioma State, has renewed efforts to achieve this long-standing aspiration.
