Delta Government Partially Supports Anioma State Creation Amid Peaceful Protest

The Delta State government has shown partial support for the creation of Anioma State, as revealed during a peaceful protest by Anioma youth from nine local government areas in Delta North at the Government House in Asaba. Chief of Staff to the Governor, Princ Johnson Erijo, assured the protesters that the government harbors no opposition to the legitimate aspirations of the Anioma people.

The government reiterated its commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law, emphasizing the need for unity among the Anioma people. The process for state creation, including submission of memoranda to the National Assembly and conducting a referendum in specific local government areas, was outlined.
