DSS Witness Identifies Suspected Terrorist in Owo Church Attack Trial

In the trial of four men accused of orchestrating the June 5, 2022, attack on St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State, a witness from the Department of State Services (DSS) identified a suspected terrorist. The witness, a member of the Ondo State Security Network (Amotekun), identified the second defendant, Al Qasim Idri, as exchanging gunfire at close range during the attack.

The witness recounted the events of the attack, including pursuing the attackers into the bush and engaging in a gunfight. The witness's testimony provided crucial details about the attack and the subsequent pursuit and arrest of the suspects.

The trial, taking place at the Federal High Court in Abuja, highlighted the collaborative efforts of security agencies in Ondo State to apprehend the suspects involved in the church attack.
