Kano Commissioner Doguwa Resigns, Effective March 2026

Doguwa, a commissioner in Kano, formally submitted his resignation letter to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Monday, effective March 2, 2026. This resignation follows a similar departure from the Commission of Internal Security and Special Services by Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umaru (rtd) and Nasiru Sule Garo from the Commission of Special Duties.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation for Doguwa's service to the state, noting significant achievements within the Ministry of Water Resources, including the rehabilitation of water facilities and the expansion of potable water supply to several communities. The governor acknowledged Doguwa's leadership in strengthening institutional capacity within the ministry and improving service delivery.

Following Doguwa's resignation, the Ministry of Water Resources will be overseen by Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda until a new appointment is made.
