Kano Water Commissioner Umar Doguwa Resigns, Effective March 2

On March 2, 2026, Umar Haruna Doguwa formally tendered his resignation as the Commissioner for Water Resources in Kano State, which was accepted by Governor Abba Yusuf. In a statement, Governor Yusuf expressed deep appreciation for Doguwa's loyalty and dedicated service to the people of Kano State.

He highlighted Doguwa's previous role in the education sector, noting his vital contributions to advancing educational policy reform. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda to supervise the Ministry of Water Resources until a new commissioner is appointed.
