Anthony Joshua's Driver Appears in Court Over Fatal Lagos Crash

Adeniyi Kayode, the driver of British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua, faced court proceedings in Nigeria following a fatal crash on December 29th. The crash, involving Joshua's Lexus SUV and a lorry on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulted in the deaths of two team members, trainer Latif Ayodeji and strength coach Sina Ghami.

Kayode, aged 46, appeared in the Sagamu Magistrate Court in Ogun State, where he faced charges including causing death by dangerous driving. The court adjourned the case to February 25th to allow Kayode time to seek legal advice.

Joshua expressed condolences on social media, acknowledging the loss. Kayode was granted bail set at five million naira.

The charges against him include reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care, and driving without a valid license.
