APC Accuses Gov Otti of Misleading on Federal Projects

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has publicly accused Abia State Governor Alex Otti of misrepresenting federal projects as his own, particularly the reconstruction of the Omenuko Bridge. In a statement issued by the APC's Public Secretary, Uch Aguoru, the party expressed disappointment over Otti's administration's ongoing issues with information management.

Aguoru highlighted that Otti's spokesman, Ferdinand Ekeoma, displayed a lack of knowledge regarding the federal projects executed in the state, including the Omenuko Bridge and the Umuahia-Ikot Ekpen road. The APC referenced comments made by Rt.

Hon. Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, who noted that these projects were funded and approved by President Bola Tinubu's administration. Aguoru also pointed out that Otti had previously acknowledged the federal government's role in the bridge's reconstruction during a tour with Minister David Umahi on November 1, 2025.

The reconstruction project was originally awarded to Setraco in 2015 and was later reviewed in 2023, with the Abia government seeking federal approval for the reconstruction agreement.
