APC Moves House of Reps Primary to May 16, 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a revision to its election timetable, specifically moving the House of Representatives primary election for the 2027 general elections to Saturday, May 16, 2026. This adjustment was confirmed in a statement issued on Thursday by Felix Morka, the APC's National Publicity Secretary.

The party clarified that the dates for other primary elections remain unchanged: Senate primaries will take place on Monday, May 18, 2026; state House of Assembly primaries are scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, 2026; and governorship primaries will occur on Thursday, May 21, 2026. The presidential primary is set for Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The APC dismissed earlier reports suggesting further changes to the primary timetable, insisting that the only adjustment pertains to the House of Representatives primary.
