APC Postpones House of Reps Primaries for 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the postponement of its House of Representatives primaries, which were initially set to take place on Saturday, May 16, 2026. This decision was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary.

The adjustment to the schedule is part of the party's ongoing preparations for the 2027 general elections. Morka clarified that while the date for the House of Representatives primaries has been changed, the dates for the Senate, State House of Assembly, Governorship, and Presidential primaries remain unchanged.

According to the new timetable, the Senate primaries are expected to occur on Monday, May 18, 2026, the State House of Assembly primaries on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the Governorship primaries on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and the Presidential primaries on Saturday, May 23, 2026. However, the APC did not provide specific reasons for the postponement of the House of Representatives primaries.
