APC chieftain begs President Tinubu to free Nnamdi Kanu

Former Lagos lawmaker and APC chieftain, Hon Jude Idimogu, has urged President Bola Tinubu to grant clemency to Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). Kanu, who is facing terrorism charges in a federal high court in Abuja, has been in custody since his repatriation from Kenya in June 2021 under controversial circumstances.

Idimogu emphasized the need for unity among Nigerians and appealed to Tinubu to release Kanu in order to revive economic activities in the region disrupted by IPOB's activities. He believes that Kanu's release could help reduce insecurity and tension in the area, as well as bring back business and trading that have stagnated due to the unrest.

Idimogu described Tinubu as a compassionate leader and urged him to free Kanu to stabilize the region.
