APC Chieftain, Sani Shinkafi Survives Assassination Attempt

APC Chieftain Sani Shinkafi survived an assassination attempt on August 15 after a masked gunman in black attire blocked his vehicle after Juma prayer. Shinkafi described the attack as unprovoked and linked it to his vocal criticism of insecurity in Zamfara State.

He called on the Inspector General of Police and DSS to investigate and punish the perpetrators. In a separate incident, the PDP governorship candidate in Anambra State also claimed to have survived an assassination attempt, suggesting it was a sign of his destined governorship.

Sources close to the politician revealed he was seriously injured in the attack. Both incidents highlight the growing trend of violence against political figures in Nigeria.
