APC Congress Shows Political Maturity in Akwa Ibom

Obong Nsima Ekere, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, remarked on the political maturity of the party during a congress held in Uyo on Tuesday. He highlighted the peaceful conduct of the congress, contrasting it with previous years marked by violence and disputes.

Ekere noted that the seamless process indicated the party's growth in internal democracy and strength. He emphasized the importance of consensus among leaders and stakeholders, which he believes is crucial for avoiding unnecessary acrimony and fostering unity within the party.

The congress resulted in the unanimous adoption of the state working committee led by Obong Stephen Leo Ntukekpo. Ekere congratulated the newly elected members, including Aniekan Ekpo as Deputy State Chairman and Envoi Nsentip Akpabio as Secretary.

He called on party members to rally behind the APC for the collective goal of transforming Akwa Ibom State.
