APC Faces Crisis as Allegations of Sabotage Emerge

A fresh crisis is developing within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as allegations arise that certain aggrieved governors are attempting to sabotage candidates who won the party's National Assembly primaries in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The Oodua Progressive Youths League (OPYL), represented by General Secretary Wale Abdulwaheed, has accused these governors of urging their preferred aspirants, who lost the party's tickets, to run on opposition platforms.

The allegations include claims that opposition candidates are being encouraged to select loyal APC members as polling agents, which would allow them to influence the party's election-day operations while contesting against APC candidates. Tensions have escalated in Ondo following the APC primaries, with Governor Aiyedatiwa denying any wrongdoing and labeling his accusers as “naysayers.” However, a party source has accused him of attempting to create a parallel political structure, linking him to various opposition candidates and their activities, including Matthew Oyerinmade and Prince Idowu Mafimisebi, who are contesting under the PDP platform.
