APC Elects Delegates for Rivers Assembly Bye-Elections in Peaceful Ward Congress

The All Progressives Congress (APC) organized ward congresses in Ahoada East and Khana local government areas of Rivers State to select delegates for the forthcoming House of Assembly bye-elections scheduled for February 21. The congresses were described as peaceful and orderly by party officials.

Shehu Dang Smart chaired the APC Congress Primary Committee, overseeing the process in Ahoada East Constituency II, while Peter Oyoala led the team in Khana. INEC officials and security operatives were present to monitor the exercise.

Five delegates were elected from each ward through a voice vote in line with APC guidelines. The vacant Ahoada East II seat resulted from the resignation of Edison Ehi, who was later appointed as the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Siminalayi Fubara's resignation led to the vacancy of the Khana II seat, which remained unfilled following Dinebari Loolo's death in September 2023.
