APC's Napoleon Ukalikp Wins Rivers By-Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the victory of Napoleon Ukalikp, the candidate from the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the Ahoada East Constituency II by-election held on Saturday. Ukalikp emerged victorious with a total of 3,980 votes in a closely contested election.

The results were declared by Rosemary Ogu, the returning officer at the INEC office in Ahoada town. The election was conducted to fill a vacant seat in the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Reports indicated that 86 out of 87 polling unit results were uploaded to the INEC results viewing portal, reflecting a near-complete collation exercise. The uploaded figures represented 98.85 percent of the total polling unit results.

This victory is expected to strengthen the APC's foothold in the constituency.
