Kofa: APC's Need for Wike Surpasses His Need for Party

Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, a member of the House of Representatives representing the Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency of Kano State, asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) requires former Rivers Governor and current minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, more than Wike needs the party. In an interview with Arise TV, Kofa discussed Wike's political relevance and relationship with the APC as the 2027 elections approach.

He claimed that Wike would remain influential even outside of government and would attract significant political interest if he left the APC. Kofa advised the APC to recognize Wike's value and engage him through negotiation rather than confrontation, criticizing the party's governors for publicly confronting Wike via press conference.

He compared Wike's enduring political relevance to that of President Bola Tinubu, who maintained his influence after years out of office. Kofa emphasized that the political situations in different states are unique and should be approached pragmatically.
