APC, PDP React as Canadian Court Declares Parties as Terrorist Groups

The APC and PDP have both condemned a Canadian Federal Court's ruling that classified them as terrorist organizations. The court upheld the judgment, citing the parties' involvement in political violence, electoral bloodshed, and subversion of democracy.

The decision was based on the conduct of the PDP during the 2003 election and 2004 local government poll, where voter intimidation, ballot stuffing, and killings were reported. The PDP's deputy national youth leader, Timothy Osadolor, criticized the judgment as biased and lacking evidence, calling for its outright dismissal.

The APC also rejected the verdict, arguing that the judge lacked actual knowledge of the situation in Nigeria and emphasizing the party's democratic nature. The ruling has sparked controversy and raised concerns about the parties' credibility and legitimacy, both domestically and internationally.
