APC Commits to Peaceful Campaigns Ahead of Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has committed to conducting peaceful campaigns in Ekiti and Osun states in preparation for the upcoming governorship elections scheduled for June 20, 2026, and August 8, 2026, respectively. During a visit to the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, Nentaw Yilwatda, the APC national chairman, received Dr.

Richard Montgomery from the British High Commission. Montgomery announced the United Kingdom's decision to deploy observers for the elections, underscoring the significance of credible elections for Nigeria's democratic stability and its standing on the global stage.

Yilwatda called on foreign partners to continue supporting democratic institutions in Nigeria, highlighting the country's outsized influence in Africa. He noted that the APC had over 6,000 members participate in its recent primaries, demonstrating a transparent electoral process.

Yilwatda also praised President Bola Tinubu's economic reform agenda, which aims to achieve a trillion-dollar economy and secure Nigeria's economic future.
